Systrar Productions is a production collective.
Systrar means sisters, siblings, friends, and represents our approach to film production. A film is not the creation of one single artist/genius, but rather the collaboration of many. We base this understanding on feminist and collective concepts of filmmaking and on our own experiences of working together. Along these lines, we engage in different projects together, each time negotiating our roles and positions.
Under the name of Systrar Productions, we produce films independently and self-organized, and move between the fields of cinema, art, theory, and activism. Our work has been shown in various contexts, festivals, and exhibitions.
